The No.71 Auto Vent (automatic hot water air vent) is designed for use on hot water radiators, baseboards, convectors, radiant panels and small unit heaters with a maximum working pressure of 150p.s.i. Instructions: Valve screws vertically into 1/4inch I.P.T. by hand (do not use wrench), making certain that Cap is screwed down tightly, to prevent scale and dirt from rushing into valve while filling system. After system is filled, loosen cap slightly and allow air to be released slowly, otherwise scale and dirt might rush in causing valve to leak. If this does happen, push down valve stem then pull up lightly to dislodge scale. To shut-off valve, screw cap down tightly. For normal venting, open cap one full turn. Wherever there is a possibility of water damage, use a Maid-O-Mist 7A waste connector and run tubing to nearest drain. Vertical mounting. Bright brass finish.

The Buoy Vent Valve Type SV-10-P is designed to allow positive ventilation of the buoy battery pocket while prohibiting salt or fresh water from entering the vent line when the buoy is submerged and/or tilted more than 45 degrees.Ventilation of the battery pocket is necessary to prevent the dangerous buildup of hydrogen gas associated with lead-acid batteries and to provide the flow of fresh air necessary for proper operation of air cells.The valve consists of a main body with an insert, two precision ground balls, a seal ring and a large retaining ring which secures the system parts in place.When the buoy becomes submerged, the buoyant upper ball will float up against the seal ring and seal the vent.When the buoy rolls over approximately 45 degrees, the heavy lower ball shifts along the molded angle of the insert and pushes the upper ball against the seal ring and seals the vent.
