WFI anchor flanges are designed to control internal pressure and temperature induced thrust in pipeline systems. WFI's advanced design provides cost reductions while maintaining required safety standards. Standard designs available in two series for either 40º or 90º temperature changes up to 1200 psig pressure (6"-36"). Special designs available upon request. Anchor flanges are commonly used as a means of restricting pipe movement and distributing axial thrust of the pipeline throughout the foundation in which the flange is anchored. Restraining the movement of pipeline sections is a design factor that must be considered particularly at points of directional change, connections to equipment at meter run locations, at river crossings, and for pipe runs at locations of discontinuity of restraint from the earth surrounding the line. The forces resulting from the restraining anchor are gradually absorbed by the fitting without imposing a concentration of stresses on the pipeline itself. Fillet welding of external collars, supports, lugs etc. is eliminated.
